Silk care guide
Keep your silk soft.
Silk rewards a gentler routine. Cool water, a small amount of silk-safe detergent, and patient air drying help preserve the smooth hand, natural sheen, and beautiful drape of your Zolay Nights bonnet.
The essential method
Wash gently, step by step.
- Fill a clean basin with cool water and add a small amount of pH-neutral, silk-safe detergent.
- Submerge the bonnet and move it gently through the water. Avoid rubbing, scrubbing, or leaving it to soak.
- Rinse in fresh cool water until the water runs clear.
- Press out moisture without twisting or wringing the fabric.
- Lay the bonnet on a clean towel, roll once to absorb excess water, then reshape it.
- Air dry flat or hang it away from direct sunlight and heat.
A simple rhythm
Care that fits real life.
How often to wash
For regular nightly wear, one to two weeks is only a starting point. Wash sooner after perspiration, heavy product use, or whenever the forehead band no longer feels fresh. A second bonnet makes it easier to rotate while one is drying.
Drying and wrinkles
Keep silk away from tumble-dryer heat. Once dry, use a steamer at a safe distance or a cool iron on the reverse side with a pressing cloth if you want a smoother finish.
Color care
Wash dark and light colors separately, especially during their first washes. Avoid bleach, optical brighteners, stain removers, and detergents containing enzymes formulated for tougher fabrics.
Between washes
Protect the fabric when it is off duty.
Let your bonnet air out after wear before placing it in a drawer or travel pouch. Store it completely dry, away from direct sun and rough objects. Earrings, exposed zippers, hook-and-loop fasteners, and sharp-edged accessories can catch delicate fibers.
Do
- Use cool water and silk-safe detergent
- Handle with clean hands
- Reshape while damp
- Air dry out of direct sunlight
Avoid
- Bleach and enzyme detergents
- Twisting, wringing, or hard scrubbing
- High dryer or iron heat

Before your next night
A clean bonnet works best with clean, dry hair.
Heavy oils, leave-in products, skincare, and perspiration can transfer to the bonnet over time. Allow styling products to settle before bed, keep the hairline-contact area fresh, and make sure both your sleep bonnet and hair are fully dry before wearing. Quick reminder
Always check the care label supplied with your product first. Natural silk can vary slightly in sheen and texture, and thoughtful handling is the best way to keep it feeling beautiful.
